The documents in this section were originally created by the Ignite team to help run sessions. We call them running orders. They were written for people already familiar with Ignite, so some knowledge is assumed. If you're new to Ignite, welcome! The information below will help explain how the sessions are typically run.
Before the session
- The room is usually set up with coffee tables and welcome snacks on each table.
- Guests are greeted at the door, given a name label, and asked to sign in, ensuring contact details are recorded in line with data protection requirements.
- Prayer cards (we use luggage labels) and pens are placed on each table. One side is pre-written with "Please pray for...". You'll also need a place for completed prayers to be displayed or left, such as a prayer tree or cross.
- Food is always available at Ignite. Some evenings offer light refreshments, while others include a full meal.
- Light refreshment evenings allow around 30 minutes for arrival, drinks and conversation.
- Meal evenings allow around 60 minutes before the opening activity.
- Background music is played as people arrive and is often kept quietly playing during discussion times.
You may see the term Boffins in some running orders. These are members of your team who act as "experts" and are available to answer questions during the session.
Colour coding
The running orders use colours to show the type of activity at a glance:
Black = Listening
Blue = Multimedia
Red = Interactive activities
If you feel that you need a session which is very interactive look for lots of red!
